Spilling the ‘coffee’ with talented make-up artist, Mya Sky

For all the beauty lovers out there, I have found the perfect make-up artist to spill the tea! Well, in our case, coffee. Mya Sky is an extremely talented make-up artist from New Castle, England. Her talent speaks for itself, but her kind, friendly and bubbly nature makes the whole experience enjoyable and fun. I promise you, the final result will literally give you goosebumps.

As a professional make-up artist, she enhances beauty and offers the most beautiful gift: empowering women when they need most. She definitely has a way of using her brushes and liquid lipsticks, that made her stand out of the MUA crowd. Her work is truly amazing and it varies from casual looks to couture makeup, and even Halloween inspired looks. Clients love her, Instagram loves her, and we are living for those fabulous looks!

What inspired you to be a make-up artist? What’s the best thing about it? What’s the worst thing?

Mya: What inspired me to become a makeup artist was my love for art and makeup. I’ve always been told to do the thing that I love most. The best thing about being a makeup artist is seeing the transformation of my clients, not just their look but their entire personality with how much confidence makeup can give people.  The worst part about being a makeup artist is that awkward silence when a client doesn’t want to talk throughout their appointment. As I am quite a chatty person and want to make them feel as comfortable as possible.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

Mya: My biggest pet peeve is when a client sits on their phone whilst I’m trying to do their makeup as they are looking down therefore makes my job x10 harder.

Who is your inspiration? What inspires you?

Mya: My inspiration is @plouise as she is so successful because of how much she loves her job.

Your favorite color to use when you’re doing make-up a full look?

Mya: I love using bright colors to create a vibrant eye shadow look, with a nude lip 🤩

What’s the best thing about meeting many people? Who inspired you the most?

Mya: The best thing about meeting many people is that we can all learn new things from one another and get multiple opinions on makeup tips.

What’s a beauty product you can’t live without?

Mya: I definitely couldn’t live without my plouise eye base!!

Name a beauty guru. What have you learned from him/her/them?

Mya: Plouise taught me not to set my base when applying eye shadow and it changed the makeup game forever.

Side note: Women working together in this industry is the sisterhood we all need in our lives!

What’s the best beauty secret you have ever learned?

Mya: The best beauty secret I’ve learned is when applying false lashes not to shut your eyes just to look downwards.

What’s your favorite make-up palette you couldn’t live without?

Mya: My favorite palette I couldn’t live without would definitely be the BPerfect X Stacey Marie XL carnival palette.
