We all wondered at some point if the famous James Bond character could be played by anyone. Literally anyone. No matter the race or sex. Just imagine a ‘Jeanine’ Bond for a second! Quite an amazing scenario, am I right?
However, this may not be happening in the near future, but I am totally rooting for a super spy with a sassy badass attitude and garters. Oops, I’m really going for it.
In a interview with variety, Barbara Brocolli- the producer of James Bond, said that the new James Bond will totally be played by a male.
”He can be of any color, but he is male,” she said.
However, she admits that: “I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters. I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that.” We see you, Barbara!
The famous super spy was portrayed on camera by several white male actors like Sean Connery, David Niven, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan and the latest actor from recent movies, Daniel Craig .
The new James Bond movie No Time to Die, is set for release on April 10, casting Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux and Remi Malek. It is known that this is going to be the Daniel Craig’s fifth and likely final appearance in the James Bond franchise. So, who will play the new Bond?
It is rumored for years that the new James Bond will be played by Idris Elba, but he ultimately denied the offers.
”Of course, if someone said to me ‘Do you want to play James Bond?,’ I’d be like, ‘Yeah!’ That’s fascinating to me. But it’s not something I’ve expressed, like, ‘Yeah, I wanna be the black James Bond,”’ he said to Vanity Fair last year.
